Prof. EDUARDO MIRANDA

Eduardo Miranda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental at Stanford University. He received his MS and PhD degrees in Structural Engineering from the University of California and Berkeley and his Civil Engineer degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His previous research work has included work in evaluation and upgrading of existing buildings, strength reduction factors, displacement modification factors, estimation of lateral displacement demands in structures. He has published over 100 papers in international journals and conferences. Current research interests include estimation of acceleration demands in buildings, seismic response of nonstructural components, loss estimation and performance-based design.
