This course will present basic elements for the seismic design of structural concrete buildings. Basic design concepts will be described at the beginning of the course, followed by design aspects concerning specifically to reinforced concrete moment resisting frames and structural walls. The need for developing new structural systems will be discussed. The role of diaphragms in the structural response will also be discussed in the course.
