  1. Geometric nonlinearity and material inelasticity; modelling approaches – concentrated plasticity vs. distributed inelasticity
  2. Nonlinear dynamic analysis – selection/scaling/matching of accelerograms, integration algorithm, incremental/iterative procedures, convergence criteria, equivalent viscous damping, experimental validation
  3. Pushover analysis – conventional, modal, adaptive. Analysis control algorithm. Nonlinear Static Procedures – CSM, N2, MPA, ACSM
  4. Modelling issues - walls, staircases, infills, slabs, nodes, etc.
  5. Structural retrofitting: global, local, selective interventions Representative applications and description of real case-studies; residential buildings, bridges, prefabricated structures
