PROJECT MANAGEMENT

 

Objective 8: investigation of the possibilities to support such changes by political and economic environment, namely of existing programmes (herefore the pre-studies by FEMA as well as the dissemination of results from the events on “Natural Hazards Impact on Urban Areas and Infrastructure” are important) and their impact.

METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH:

Documentation and conference organisation activity.

INSTRUMENTS:

For years already the applicant is active in the organisation of a session under the topic “Natural Hazards Impact on Urban Areas and Infrastructure”. The activity of publishing special issues after the session will be pursued in the coming years and integrated into the research project.

WORK PERFORMED:

In 2006 two sessions were organised, in 2007 one. The sessions were a success, and special issue publications are in work. From the one in 2005 a special issue was published during the project.

RESULTS:

A special issue was published in the Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering, another one in Natural Hazards, both Springer international journals, are in work.

TRAINING RECEIVED:

In the session organised in 2007 the focus was agreed with co-convener Dr. Agostino Goretti following a project proposal written in 2006. Dr. Goretti held a short course at the host.

RELEVANCE:

Through the contributions to the session an overview of the developments at European level could be gained, from a multidisciplinary point of view.
