Objective 7: highlighting the comprehensibility of the measures analysed, through inclusion into the integral planning scheme near the flow in the physical implementation of the retrofit system also of a flow for the education of the population which has to support the measures. This is especially important in the so-called second phase of strategic implementation, i.e. when the application of the measure has to spread from pilot or demonstrative projects to „routine“ wide ones.

Several steps are foreseen in the „educational flow“: determination of research directions, determination of means for accessibilisation of information, investigation of consulting and participation means, education, creation of public ideas, realisation of the connection between education and research. Finally the information circuit gets into a second phase.

Basis for the design of the educational flow and especially for appropriate participation means is former work of the author in sociology field.

The focus in what regards the achievements at this objective laid on the sociology part. The results have been published in the book “From the participative models of the 70s to newer communication forms at the end of the XXth century in architecture and urban planning” (publication B2). For this purpose the former sociology of architecture work of the fellow has been actualised with two new chapters: one on the project in course and one on an investigation of building with participatism in HaDiKo, Germany. The building with participatism was documented in the periodic report of the project, too. Lessons were learned from this endeavour which is a building attached to an existing one with works performed while the initial building was occupied. Such can be useful in a retrofit endeavour as well, when choosing the management strategy of retrofit of an occupied building.

Apart of the book publication also, the publication “Collaborative issues in retrofitting historical reinforced concrete buildings” (publication C8) contains references to the results obtained within this objective.

No special training was received from the host in achieving results to this objective.

The results achieved in this objective are particularly relevant since they refer to the societal impact of the project: the inhabitants have to support the measures.
